Much more needs to be done to help those dying of cancer in Kiev. Our hospice, with 10 beds for inpatients and 75 outpatients in a single municipal region, cannot meet the urgent need for our services among the population of the whole city. Only the construction of new hospices can adequately support cancer patients.
VALE Hospice International, with the Kiev Mayor's office, is now seeking to build a new, independent building with 25 inpatient beds, an outpatient service and a center in which medical personnel from the other municipal regions can be trained. We need your help to support and build hospices and to serve our patients and their families both materially and morally.
Our hospice is supported by the Kiev municipal budget, but our work urgently requires public and private contributions to maintain an adequate level of assistance to our patients. In hospice care, not only medications and diapers are necessary, but also many other items which make the patient's existence as comfortable as possible and conditions as close to those one would like at home as they can be.
Directors of VALE travel to the Kiev hospice once a month to help care for the sick and materially support both patients and medical personnel. All our assistance is rendered for free without pursuing any profit.
Donations to help us are gratefully accepted. VALE Hospice International has been recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a public charitable organization covered by section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. tax code. Contributions to VALE may be fully deducted against taxes as provided for by the code.
The Kiev hospice and its patients look forward to your compassion and active help, without which all we do would be impossible.
